5 – The Etymology of the European Word “Palestine”:

The Greek and Latin versions of our Jewish people’s Canaanite Hebrew word for “occupier” is derived from פְלֶשֶׁת “Feleshet” – if the פ is transliterated as a P, then “Peleshet” – that identifies the land area that is occupied by the Felishti. Feleshet/Peleshet became Palaistinē in Greek and became Palestina in Latin and, then, became Palestine in English.

Online Jew-hating Israelophobic propagandists often conflate “Philistine” with the word “Phoenicia”. The word “Phoenicia” is a Greek exonym for all of Canaan, NOT for a specific Canaan people. As a member of both Indigenous communities, Von Schlegel has experienced firsthand how Pueblo People and Jews share ritual practices of giving thanks for the food, land, knowledge and other gifts from our Creator. Von Schlegel believes that one can lose indigenous identity, but not by living in the Diaspora. “If they became a different identity and are no longer Jews, then they’re no longer indigenous. They’re whatever they became,” she said. “If they don’t pray for Israel, feel themselves a part of our people (in the greater sense—past, present and future generations) or have relationships with our ancestors there, if they don’t identify with our tribe…then they’re not.”

As an indigenous advocate, Von Schlegel takes issue with how anti-Zionists have tried to compare Palestinians to Native Americans. According to her, pro-Palestinian activists have visited numerous tribes in America to argue that their narratives are the same. “They are not,” she says, emphatically explaining that pro-Palestinian activists are co-opting the indigenous experience for their own political gain. She believes American Jews should be owning their identity as indigenous peoples, and building relationships with analogous communities.

“Jews are not only indigenous to Israel—we are indigenous peoples. We must remember that,” she noted. “Look into Native communities around your area, learn about them and their needs—connect with them. Understand how similar we are as indigenous peoples, and how we must work together.”

Von Schlegel says she speaks particularly to Jews who live in the Americas. “Native American battles for sovereignty, language reclamation, traditional food production, water protection, ecological preservation, religious expression and defining our modern realities through our own cultural lens not only reflect the same struggles and accomplishments of the Jewish people, but also positively benefit Jewish lives in the United States.”

Israelis SAVE Flight FZ1073 from terror attack!

Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after the Omani co-pilot repeatedly stabbed the Indian flight captain in what Israeli authorities are now treating as a terrorist attack, according to Israeli media reports.

The flight captain was able to unlock the door before passing out, and Israeli passengers took out the co-pilot and pulled the plane with its 174 passengers out of its 1600 foot nosedive to a safe altitude and landing. The hero flight captain, Smit Machchhar, is making an excellent recovery.

Flight FZ1073, a Boeing 737 carrying 174 passengers, including 27 children, landed safely at Tabuk Airport in northwestern Saudi Arabia after transmitting emergency signals that raised fears of a possible hijacking.

Following situational assessments and testimony from passengers, Israel is treating the incident as a “full-fledged terrorist attack,” reported Israeli journalist Amit Segal.

When a pilot stabbed his co-pilot on a flight to Tel Aviv, several passengers rushed forward to stop him.

Israeli dentist Dr. Musaev Shota was among them. After helping other passengers overpower and restrain the attacker, he treated the captain’s severe head and hand wounds, working to stop the bleeding until the plane landed in Saudi Arabia.

Another passenger, Yaniv, neutralized the terrorist pilot, “pulled the yoke up and stopped the plane’s dive.” He returned to Israel still bloody.
