The Pro-Palestine movement \u201cborrowed\u201d the slogan \u201cFree Palestine\u201d from the Zionist movement (and never gave it back). Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because before 1948, \u201cPalestine\u201d was a general geographic name for the region, not a widely used Arab national identity. In fact, many Arabs rejected the term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auni Abdel Hadi, an Arab representative at the Peel Commission, is often cited as saying:
\u201cThere is no such country as Palestine\u2026 Our land for hundreds of years was part of Syria.\u201d

Only after the establishment of the State of Israel did the term \u201cPalestinian\u201d develop more clearly into a distinct national identity among Arabs, especially in the context of opposition to Jewish sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So \u201cFree Palestine\u201d from who?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the British-Hashemite \ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7\ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8 militarized occupation of the land, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine living in Jerusalem as a Jew who follows the halachic teachings of Jesus (or, now, \u201cYeshua\u201d, as it\u2019s 21st century fad to say) who had been executed by Rome for inciting an Indigenous rebellion (messianism) only to discover that up north \u2013 in the Aegean region of Greece and Rome \u2013 a charismatic charlatan by the name of Paul has appropriated your Jewish sect\u2019s teachings and created a whole new idol worshipping Gentile religion out of it. How would you react to such idolatry in your Jewish names?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Christianity and Islam started out innocently enough as non-Jew appropriations of our Jewish people\u2019s ancestors and sacred ancestral writings. But, being that both Christianity and Islam are theology-based \u201cfaith\u201d religions \u2013 and, worse, religions that seek to replace Indigenous ethno-religious lifeways \u2013 adherents to these non-Jew religions were offended by our Jewish people\u2019s rejection of Christianity and Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hence, Christianity was founded in the north on antisemitism (\u201cJew\u201d hatred) and led to repeated massacres of Jews for not converting. Though not founded directly on antisemitism, Islam in the south was just as quick to turn deadly violent towards the Jews, also for simply not converting. Both have committed egregious sins against humanity in our Jewish people\u2019s names and, then, blamed \u201cthe Jews\u201d for their crimes against humanity. So, to be \u201csuspicious\u201d of Christians and Muslims is an understatement for Jews, who are the very last surviving people of ancient Canaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPaul\u2019s tone in the Epistles, to use a comparison that will scandalize followers of either half of the analogy, is strikingly like Leon Trotsky\u2019s in his autobiography. Trotsky (n\u00e9 Bronstein) was also a Jew who had both stopped being one and, necessarily, remained one, took a new name to lead an organization made up of Gentiles, and combined a pragmatic appetite for alliances with a hard ideological line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Trotsky and Paul get absorbed in quarrelsome dialectics and in point-scoring built around minute differences. Trotsky\u2019s arguments about revolution in one nation versus a revolution of the international proletariat, like the fine argumentative tracery of Paul\u2019s Jewish Christians versus Greek ones, seemed vital to the movement at the time but weirdly trivial and abstract to those outside it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Epistle to the Galatians, Paul strains to show that the Gentile mission and the Jerusalem mission, though carried out by mutually mistrustful parties, belong to a single divine design. His mode of argumentation resembles nothing so much as Marxist dialectics, sinuously arguing from opposites and forcing a desired conclusion upon unobliging texts. He rereads God\u2019s promise to Abraham as if it had always presaged the later turn to \u201call nations,\u201d boldly reinterpreting the Jewish patriarch\u2019s \u201cseed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although everyone had taken it to mean Israel, Paul writes instead, \u201cThe Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, \u2018In you all the nations shall be blessed.\u2019 \u201d On that basis, he arrives at the bracing conclusion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, and there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you are Christ\u2019s, then you are Abraham\u2019s seed, and heirs according to the promise.\u201d The power of an orator who can, in this way, fuse feeling and doctrine is immense. (After hearing Trotsky speak in the nineteen-tens, my great-grandfather\u2019s brothers were converted from Orthodox Judaism to a Jewish-inflected Bolshevism.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trotsky himself had seen that the pragmatist follower who lacks true belief usually ends up on the other side; a passionate believer who lacks pragmatic planning skills usually ends up dead. In Paul\u2019s time, Josephus was a perfect instance of the first kind, a brilliant military leader who, when faced with the fanaticism of his cohorts, chose to shift his allegiance to Rome. Foremost among the examples of the second kind was the rabbi Jesus [who was murdered by Rome for inciting an indigenous Zionist rebellion]\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are, however, many lacunae in Paul\u2019s writing and life that have puzzled readers. Why, across the tens of thousands of words of his epistles, does he never tell the story of the work and life of Jesus of Nazareth? There\u2019s essentially no Mary, no Joseph, no Nativity (much less a virgin birth), no miracles, no mission, no overturned tables at the Temple, no Galilean ministry rendered through narrative. This silence has led a handful of scholars to insist that Paul knew no earthly Jesus at all. But it\u2019s possible that Jesus was simply more important to Paul as a risen God than as an admirable man.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christianity formed OUTSIDE the Jewish people\u2019s sacred ancestral Canaan land of Israel, full stop \ud83d\uded1! Saul of Tarsus (think T\u00fcrkiye) \u2013 turned Paul the Apostle \u2013 was a Greek speaking Jew that NEVER personally knew the Jerusalem teacher Jesus, the Jew of Nazareth. Paul didn\u2019t even know our Jewish people\u2019s Canaanite Hebrew language, and it is doubtful he knew Aramaic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Had Paul (aka, Saul of Tarsus) NOT been born, then the European-Arab multi-continent WW2 Holocaust (ha\u2019Shoah\ud83d\udd6f\ufe0f) would NOT have happened in our collective human history upon our shared sacred planet Earth \ud83c\udf0d\ud83c\udf0f\ud83c\udf0e! Just think about this, and STOP \ud83d\uded1 trying to \u201cgraft\u201d yourselves onto our Jewish people of Israel \u2013 in order to proselytize us to your Roman god-in-flesh \u201cJesus Christ\u201d idol worshipping religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
