\u201cDuring the second world war, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was deposed with the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran in 1941. Iran was too important geopolitically \u2013 for the war in Russia against the Nazis and Indian Ocean against the Japanese \u2013 with a constant and free supply of oil for the British war machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This importance did not wane after the war. Now, the Cold War dominated geopolitics and Muslim countries found themselves in the middle of it. Iran and Turkey were key countries where communist Soviet expansion efforts were intensified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, the United States provided both countries with economic and political support in return for their membership in the democratic western block. Turkey and Iran accepted this support and became democratic in 1950 and 1951, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later in 1951, Mohammad Mosaddeq\u2019s National Front became the first democratically-elected Iranian government. Mosaddeq was a modern, secular-leaning, progressive leader who was able to gain the broad support of both the secular elite and the Iranian ulama (Islamic scholars).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was helped by a growing public disdain for Pahlavi monarchy and rising Iranian anger at British exploitation of their oil fields. Iranians were only receiving 20% of the profits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mosaddeq made the bold move to address this issue by nationalising the British-owned Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC). This did not work out in his favour, as it attracted British and US economic sanctions, crippling the Iranian economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1953, once again, Iranian people were denied self-determination. The Mosaddeq government was replaced in a military coup organised by the CIA and British intelligence. The shah was returned to power and the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company became BP, British Petroleum, with a 50-50 divide of profits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between 1953 and 1977, the shah relied heavily on the US in his efforts to modernise the army and Iranian society, and transform the economy through what he called the White Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it came at a hefty cost. Wealth was unequally distributed, with a large underclass of peasants migrating to urban centres. The economy could not keep up with the growing population, unplanned urbanisation and lack of an open economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having tasted democracy for a brief period during 1951\u201353, many Iranians wanted democratic rights and economic progress. This uprising resulted in large-scale political suppression of dissent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our Torah, our Jewish people\u2019s sacred ancestral writings, all nefesh were shaped from the soil of the land and the neshama of the Creator is breathed into all nefesh \u2013 at their birth. When the Creator takes the breath away, the nefesh is dead for good, and his, her, its memory is only kept alive by the living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humans are nefesh, too, in our Jewish people\u2019s Torah and created no differently than other mammals, fish, fowl, and insects \u2013 albeit, with one added feature: Humans were created in the image of the elohim (the children gods and goddesses of El and Asherah, a divine family of which Y-HWH is included). So says our Jewish people\u2019s Canaanite Hebrew language origin stories. Meaning, humans have been given a divine responsibility to work and to protect the land using the creativity of the gods and goddesses (aka, we have the special ability as nefesh to imagine what is not apparent physically, share stories about this, and DO something about this).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must understand Torah FIRST, in order to begin to understand the Jewish people\u2019s concept of \u201cresurrection\u201d, for this is very different from Christianity and Islam eschatology! Amongst the Jewish people\u2019s prophetic oracles is a vision of Jewish bones being revived and reconstituted into a living breathing human being. And it is from here that Jews get our concept of the resurrection of bnei Israel \u2013 all for a second chance to live life in the \u201cworld to come\u201d here on Earth. Yes, the Jewish people\u2019s prophesied days of the mashiach redemption of Israel and our return to peaceful and secure self-determining sovereignty upon Zion, our sacred ancestral Canaan land of Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the resurrection that the writer of the book of Matthew was expecting to happen WITHIN his lifetime, being convinced that the proto-rabbi Jesus of Nazareth was about to fulfill the Zionist (messianic) prophecies of our Jewish ancestors \u2013 in Jesus\u2019 rebellion against the god-in-flesh worshipping Roman Empire occupying the land of Israel. But, there is one more concept of \u201cafterlife\u201d that is from our Talmud (our Jewish people\u2019s Oral tradition). It is taught by our Jewish sages that if a tzadik\u2019s life is ended prematurely \u2013 before the divine reason for this adam\u2019s existence is completed \u2013 the neshama within him or her does not return directly to the Creator, rather this neshama goes through a detour to complete the divine reason and becomes reincarnated into another nefesh. Think along the lines of a talking donkey, a bird that imparts,\u2026 The Talmud is filled with such additional Jewish stories, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
