In this ancient world order, every nation believed (and wanted) their god to be the strongest. When nations fought, the winner often attributed the victory not only to their god\u2019s superior might but also to their special relationship with that god. The battle was about convincing the enemy neighbors not only of the god\u2019s strength but of the people\u2019s ability to call on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we read the Mesha Stele in this context, it makes sense that when the Moabites lost to the Israelites, they attributed it to Chemosh\u2019s anger with them rather than to his defeat by YHWH. This logic allowed the people to maintain hope in their god\u2019s strength and the possibility that he would prevail another day, once his people had repented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An angry god can be appeased, but a weak god can never save his people. Rather than acknowledge that YHWH might be stronger than Chemosh, which would mean the Israelites were stronger than the Moabites, the Moabites could retain a sense of control over their destiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These gods were largely territorial. YHWH not only had a special chosen relationship with the Israelite people, but he also had that same special relationship with their land on the west bank of the Jordan River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As described in 2 Kings 17, when the Assyrians moved foreign peoples into the newly conquered Israelite territory, replacing the Israelites they had forced out, lions attacked the newcomers until the Assyrians brought a priest of YHWH back to teach them how to properly serve the god of that land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al-Jazeera [\ud83c\uddf6\ud83c\udde6] cares only about the latter [post-WW1 pan-Arab nationalist \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8\u262a\ufe0f Palestinians], not the former [forcibly Arabized-Islamized SWA Indigenous peoples \ud83e\udeac\u2600\ufe0f\ud83d\udd4e\ud83d\udd25\ud83c\udf3f\u270a\ud83c\udffc].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That only works if it is the continuing goal of \u201cthe Palestinians [\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8\u262a\ufe0f]\u201d to conquer Israel [\ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\u270a\ud83c\udffc, successfully decolonised in 1948], which is precisely why Israel [\ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1] will not allow the creation of a Palestinian state [upon our 1948 DECOLONISED sacred ancestral land \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\u270a\ud83c\udffc].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYesterday, the overly celebrated Palestinian \u201cpoet\u201d from Gaza, Mosab Abu Toha, woke up with a random itch and went on a frenzied rampage on Instagram to post a series of attacks on me on a variety of topics and subjects. He said I\u2019m not a real Palestinian or a real Gazan, I\u2019m a Zionist, criticized me for \u201cgoing on Israeli TV,\u201d accused me of killing Al Jazeera journalists, and effectively criticized me for being against Hamas. He doesn\u2019t believe that Hamas uses Gazans as human shields, hasn\u2019t once spoken out against Hamas, and chooses to kiss up to the hordes of \u201cpro-Palestine\u201d activists in the diaspora as his prime target audience. People in the Gaza Strip are not the target audience for Abu Toha\u2019s messaging, nor is he interested in conveying the sheer level of fury and rage that they have for Hamas, which triggered the most destructive chapter in Palestinian history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mosab\u2019s whole focus and relevance are strictly related to covering the atrocities that the Palestinian people experience. On his many Instagram posts attacking me, his followers span the spectrum of lunacy that ranges from I worked for the State Department, I\u2019m paid by Israel, to overt, outright supporters of Hamas and the \u201cresistance.\u201d It appears that Mosab\u2019s gig is waning as the horror in Gaza continues, and so he\u2019s trying his luck at attacking people he perceives as a threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m glad he was able to get out of Gaza; I\u2019m glad he and his family are safe \u2013 and I have no respect whatsoever for Gazans who escape the clutches of Hamas\u2019s tyrannical rule and access safety, but choose instead to keep silent about the terror group. Mosab is a coward, a fraud, and doesn\u2019t dare speak out against Hamas because he\u2019s part of the activist class that\u2019s entirely captured by the followers they built for almost two years. He knows that if he starts speaking out against the Islamist terror group that\u2019s dragging Gaza into the abyss, his followers will turn on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And let\u2019s put the Anas al-Sharif issue to rest once and for all, since a bunch of stupid morons still think my 6-month-old Tweet had something to do with his death. A little over two weeks before he was targeted, Anas put out a message on Twitter responding to a video by Avichay Adraee, the IDF\u2019s Arabic spokesperson, who accused the Al Jazeera journalist of working for Hamas. That post went viral, and Anas knew that the Israeli military had him in their sight. So why are some so stupid to ignore this viral incident right before al-Sharif was killed, in which the IDF made it clear they wanted to target him, but chose to focus on a six-month-old Tweet? It\u2019s because moments after his death, a pro-Hamas editor from New Lines Magazine immediately posted a canned, prepared set of materials that he had to link me to the killing, as if he was hoping Anas would be killed to delegitimize me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are hundreds of Gazans inside the Strip on Twitter and Facebook whose commentary, opinions, courage, bravery, and thoughts are 100 times more worthwhile to listen to than a grifter who still refuses to speak out against Hamas and is only relevant because of his black-and-white anti-Israel views.
