Such is the case with both the new DC Superman 2025 movie and with our 1948 decolonized nation of Israel. Like a psychological Rorschach test, both Superman and Israel test whether you see this world from an Indigenous mindset or from a Colonizer\u2019s mindset. Let\u2019s explore this here\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does Kol-el, Superman\u2019s indigenous birth name, mean? This name means the \u201cvoice of god\u201d, of course (<\/em>note, spelled Kal-el in the comic series). After the disappointing appeasement by Hollywood to the antisemites \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf3\u262a\ufe0f\u271d\ufe0f\u262d of this world with the rendering of indigenous born superhero Sabra \ud83e\udeac\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1 into a Russian Black Widow acolyte, when she is actually a native Jewish \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e mossad agent that saves the world from the position of Jerusalem, we were quite honestly expecting just another bastardized Christianized Superman story \u2013 even with an actual Jew \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e casted as this Jewish superhero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, Hollywood FINALLY got this story right! Superman is BACK on the movie screen. The messenger of Y-HWH, \u05e7\u05d5\u05dc-\u05d0\u05dc \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e, that is living in the United States of Colonial America \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 diaspora, who is fighting the selfish and evil actors within this colonised world \ud83c\udf0d\ud83c\udf0e. And, after beating Lex Luthor to submission, Kol-el schools Lex Luther with a MORAL TEACHING about being human \ud83e\udeac\u270a\ud83c\udffc!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can see why pro-Palies \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8 supporters of colonial pan-Arab nationalism upon Southwest Asia are going to be so HATEFUL of this movie. Not only is Superman a Jewish \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e character again, but the Russian \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf3\u262d (Boravian) speaking Vasil Ghurkos, the President of Boravia, has an uncanny striking resemblance to the Egyptian born terrorist leader Yasser Arafat \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddec that was recruited by the KGB \u262d to be the leader of the PLO \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8 terrorist regime that is politically land-squatting upon our Jewish people\u2019s 1948 forcibly decolonised land of Israel \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\u270a\ud83c\udffc!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the storyline alludes to PRESENT lived history upon Southwest Asia \ud83e\udeac\u270a\ud83c\udffc, like the now deceased leader of Islamic HAMAS, Yahya Sinwar \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8, who has sought the invasion and devastation of Gaza, so it is with Vasil Ghurkos of Boravia with the intended militarised invasion and destruction of Jarhanpur. The SUPERMAN story is BACK, folks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jews \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e that created this Jewish superhero in the 1930\u2019s were themselves immigrants fleeing Christian and Muslim \u271d\ufe0f\u262a\ufe0f genocides upon the Jewish people of\/from our Canaan land of Israel \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\u270a\ud83c\udffc. And they developed their \u05e7\u05d5\u05dc-\u05d0\u05dc story directly from our Jewish people\u2019s \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\u270a\ud83c\udffc origin story about Moses \u2013 who in his own right, despite his lisp, was a messenger \u201cvoice of god\u201d to Pharaoh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moses \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e, like Clark Kent (Kol-el), was a simple human \u2013 with frailties \u2013 that had been gifted a superhero\u2019s role in life! And Superman is back to being funny and quite humbly human at the same time! Thank you, Hollywood \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8, for braving the worldwide antisemitism towards Jews WITH US for a change \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\u270a\ud83c\udffc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OH, and the story plot twist of playing upon a centuries old European Christian \u271d\ufe0f trope about Jews \u2013 Kol-el was sent to Earth by his indigenous parents to \u201cconquer\u201d and \u201crule\u201d over all humans, killing those who do not submit \u2013 is such a blessed touch to this DC Superman 2025 movie. A \u201cclap back\u201d at the ANTISEMITES of this world by saying, even if this were true about Kryptonians (\u201cthe Jews\u201d \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\u270a\ud83c\udffc), Superman proves the EXACT OPPOSITE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kol-el (aka, Superman), known by his colonial assigned name of Clark Kent, only wants to preserve life and to bring peace and security to this planet Earth \ud83c\udf0d\ud83c\udf0e as a servant of humanity! Even if he has to occasionally kick some narcissistic self-serving self-righteous socially privileged asses in the process \ud83e\udeac\u270a\ud83c\udffc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yaaasssss! Snap, snap, snap! Brushing the shoulders off. Reclaiming our time and our Indigenous Jewish narrative \ud83e\udeac\ud83d\udd4e\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\u270a\ud83c\udffc! A MUST watch Hollywood movie, about one of our Jewish demigods! \ud83d\ude01<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Government Affairs Desk shared, \u201cJames Gunn\u2019s Superman may aim for allegory, but the interpretation offered here goes faster than a speeding bullet and misses the mark\u2014both on the character\u2019s legacy and the nature of metaphor in comic storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, Superman isn\u2019t a foreign policy pundit in a cape. He\u2019s a symbol forged by two Jewish immigrants\u2014Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster\u2014who gave the world a hero who challenges authoritarianism, saves lives indiscriminately, and defies the powerful when they become cruel or corrupt. But that doesn\u2019t mean every villain with a foreign accent is a proxy for modern Israel or that Jarhanpur is coded as Gaza. Comic book countries like Qurac, Bialya, and yes, Boravia, have long served as fictional stand-ins for global moral ambiguity\u2014not as crude policy statements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take Lex Luthor, who in most portrayals represents the dangers of unchecked corporate power, technocracy, and ego-driven governance. Or General Zod, who exemplifies militaristic nationalism and supremacist ideology\u2014and not once has Zod been mistaken for a geopolitical metaphor. To read Boravia as Israel because it invades another country is to flatten the moral complexity that DC has long woven into its villains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Superman stopping Boravia from bombing Jarhanpur equates to an anti-Israel message, then was Superman \u201canti-American\u201d when he defied the U.S. in The Dark Knight Returns? Was he \u201canti-Soviet\u201d in Red Son just because the entire premise was a Cold War inversion? These are explorations of power, morality, and individual conscience, not simple allegories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And speaking of allegory, let\u2019s remember when Marvel\u2019s X-Men were used as a metaphor for civil rights and marginalized groups\u2014yet no one claimed Magneto\u2019s actions meant the writers were anti-Israel, despite his backstory as a Holocaust survivor. That\u2019s because comic metaphors evolve and contradict themselves, depending on the writer and the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article also ignores a key constant in Superman\u2019s history: his unwillingness to be weaponized by any state power. In Action Comics #900, Superman publicly renounces his American citizenship to avoid being seen as a U.S. agent, stating: \u201cI\u2019m tired of having my actions construed as instruments of U.S. policy.\u201d That was in 2011. So this is not some \u201cwoke twist.\u201d It\u2019s canon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, Superman criticizes American complicity. But this isn\u2019t new. Gunn\u2019s Superman follows a legacy of Superman stories that push back against nationalism, institutional corruption, and even the idea of blind patriotism. His ethos is justice\u2014not allegiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article\u2019s bold claim that \u201cSuperman cements Israel\u2019s villain status in the American imagination\u201d is not just a stretch\u2014it\u2019s a cape snagged on the barbed wire of confirmation bias. Gunn\u2019s own statements distance the story from the Middle East, and in fact, the film\u2019s real allegory might just as easily point to U.S. foreign policy in Latin America or the Middle East (think Jarhanpur as El Salvador or even Yemen) or corporate-fueled military adventurism anywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, let\u2019s not forget what Superman actually does in most of his stories: save people, even his enemies. In Kingdom Come, he tries to talk villains down before using force. In For the Man Who Has Everything, he confronts illusion and grief with compassion. This is not a hero who takes sides in tribal conflicts\u2014he takes sides against suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If people are projecting their politics onto Superman, maybe that says more about them than the Man of Steel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
