Jewish teachings on Laban clashing with Jacob (Yaakov)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
For the full moon\ud83c\udf15: Though historically untrue, out of survival necessity, modern Rabbinic Judaism teaches that Jews were always monotheists and taught the world monotheism. The reality is that Jews were Canaanite polytheists, that turned henotheistic (aka, monolatrous) by the Hasmonean period, and only developed a pantheistic monotheism during the time of Maimonides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this now said,\u2026 How many of you have heard\/read the original Jacob (Yaakov) story in our Torah? Probably, none of you who are reading our posts. And her days to give birth were completed, and behold, there were twins in her womb. And the first one emerged ruddy; he was completely like a coat of hair, and they named him Esau. And afterwards, his brother emerged, and his hand was grasping Esau\u2019s heel, and he named him Jacob. Now Isaac was sixty years old when she gave birth to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jacob left Beer Sheba, and he went to Haran. And he arrived at the place and lodged there because the sun had set, and he took some of the stones of the place and placed [them] at his head, and he lay down in that place. And he dreamed, and behold! A ladder set upon the ground and its top reached to the sun [East]; and behold, messengers of gods [elohim] were ascending and descending upon it. [elohim, the children gods of El and Asherah]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And behold, Y-HWH was standing over him, and he said, \u201cI am Y-HWH, the god of Abraham your father, and the god of Isaac; the land upon which you are lying to you I will give it and to your seed. And your seed shall be as the dust of the land, and you shall gain strength westward and eastward and northward and southward; and through you shall be blessed all the families of the topsoil [the adamah, from which adam (humans) was shaped] and through your seed. And behold, I am with you, and I will guard you wherever you go, and I will restore you to this topsoil [this land], for I will not forsake you until I have done what I have spoken concerning you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jacob awakened from his sleep, and he said, \u201cIndeed, Y-HWH is in this standing place, and I did not know [it].\u201d And he was frightened, and he said, \u201cHow awesome is this standing place! This is none other than the house of god [on the land], and this is the gate of the skies [to the dwelling place of the elohim above, the children gods of El and Asherah].\u201d And Jacob arose early in the morning, and he took the stone that he had placed at his head, and he set it up as a monument, and he poured oil on top of it. [Jacob sanctified this standing place \u2013 this land \u2013 in an intentional ritual act.] And he named the place Beth El, but Luz was originally the name of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jacob uttered a vow, saying, \u201cIf god will be alongside me [be with me], and he will guard me on this way, upon which I am going, and he will give me bread to eat and a garment to wear; and if I return in peace to my father\u2019s house, and Y-HWH will be my [land] god; then this stone, which I have placed as a monument, shall be a house of god, and everything that you give me, I will surely tithe to you. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Laban said to Jacob, \u201cBecause you are my kinsman, should you work for me gratis? Tell me what your wages shall be.\u201d Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. Leah\u2019s eyes were tender, but Rachel had beautiful features and a beautiful complexion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jacob loved Rachel, and he said, \u201cI will work for you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.\u201d And Laban said, \u201cIt is better that I give her to you than I should give her to another man. Stay with me.\u201d So Jacob worked for Rachel seven years, but they appeared to him like a few days because of his love for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jacob said to Laban, \u201cGive me my wife, for my days are completed, that I may come to her.\u201d So Laban gathered all the people of the place, and he made a feast. And it came to pass in the evening that Laban took his daughter Leah, and he brought her to him [Jacob], and he came to her [intimately]. And Laban gave Zilpah his maidservant to his daughter Leah as a maidservant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And it came to pass in the morning, and behold she was Leah! So he said to Laban, \u201cWhat is this that you have done to me? Did I not work with you for Rachel? Why have you deceived me?\u201d And Laban said, \u201cIt is not done so in our place to give the younger one before the firstborn. Complete the [wedding] week of this one, and we will give you this one too, for the work that you will render me for another seven years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jacob did so, and he completed the week of this one, and he gave his daughter Rachel to him as a wife. And Laban gave his daughter Rachel his maidservant Bilhah, for a maidservant. And he [Jacob] came also to Rachel [intimately], and he also loved Rachel more than Leah; and he worked with him [Laban] yet another seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It came to pass when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said to Laban, \u201cSend me away, and I will go to my place and to my land. Give [me] my wives and my children for whom I worked for you, and I will go, for you know my work, which I have worked for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Laban said to him, \u201cIf only I have now found favor in your eyes! I have divined, and Y-HWH has blessed me for your sake.\u201d Then he said, \u201cSpecify your wages for me, and I will give [them].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And he [Jacob] said to him, \u201cYou know how I have worked for you and how your livestock was with me. For the little that you had before me has increased in multitude, and Y-HWH blessed you upon my arrival; but now, when will I, too, provide [something] for my household?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And he [Laban] said, \u201cWhat shall I give you?\u201d And Jacob said, \u201cYou shall give me nothing; if you do this thing for me, I will return, I will pasture your flocks, [and] I will watch [them]. I will pass throughout all your flocks today, removing from there every speckled and spotted kid, and every brown lamb among the sheep, and [every] spotted and speckled [one from] among the goats, and this shall be my wages. And my righteousness will testify for me at a future date for it will come upon my wages before you. Whatever is not speckled or spotted among the goats or brown among the sheep [shall be counted as] stolen with me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Laban said, \u201cVery well! If only it would be as you say!\u201d And he [Laban] removed on that day the ringed and the spotted male goats and all the speckled and spotted female goats, whichever had white on it, and all the brown [from] among the sheep, and he gave [them] into the hands of his sons. And he set three days\u2019 journey between himself and Jacob, and Jacob tended Laban\u2019s remaining animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jacob took himself moist rod[s] of trembling poplar and hazelnut, and chestnut, and he peeled white streaks upon them, baring the white that was on the rods. And he thrust the rods that he had peeled, into the gutters in the watering troughs where the animals would come to drink opposite the [other] animals, and they would come into heat when they came to drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the flocks came into heat by the rods, and the animals bore ringed, spotted, and striped [young]. And Jacob separated the sheep, and he turned the faces of the animals toward the ringed one[s] and every brown one among Laban\u2019s animals, and he made himself flocks by himself, and he did not place them with Laban\u2019s animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And it came to pass, that whenever the animals that were bearing their first would come into heat, Jacob would place the rods in the troughs, before the eyes of the animals, [in order] to bring them into heat by [means of] the rods. But if the animals would delay, he would not place them, so that the ones that delayed were Laban\u2019s, and the ones that bore their first became Jacob\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And he heard the words of Laban\u2019s sons, saying, \u201cJacob has taken all that belonged to our father, and from what belonged to our father, he has amassed this entire fortune.\u201d And Jacob saw Laban\u2019s countenance, that he was not disposed toward him as [he had been] yesterday and the day before. And Y-HWH said to Jacob, \u201cReturn to the land of your forefathers and to your birthplace, and I will be with you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field, to his flocks. And he said to them, \u201cI see your father\u2019s countenance, that he is not disposed toward me [as he was] yesterday and the day before, but the god of my father was with me. And you know that with all my might I served your father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But your father mocked me and changed my wages ten times, but god did not permit him to harm me. If he would say thus, \u2018Speckled ones shall be your wages,\u2019 all the animals would bear speckled ones, and if he would say thus, \u2018Ringed ones shall be your wages,\u2019 all the animals would bear ringed ones. Thus, god separated your father\u2019s livestock and gave it to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And it came to pass at the time the animals came into heat, that I lifted my eyes and saw in a dream, and behold, the he goats that mounted the animals were ringed, speckled, and striped. And a messenger of god said to me in a dream, \u2018Jacob!\u2019 And I said, \u2018Here I am.\u2019 And he said, \u2018Now lift your eyes and see [that] all the he goats mounting the animals are ringed, speckled, and striped, for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you. I [Y-HWH] am the god of Beth El, where you anointed a monument, where you pronounced to me a vow. Now, arise, go forth from this land and return to the land of your birth.'\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Rachel and Leah replied and said to him, \u201cDo we still have a share or an inheritance in our father\u2019s house? Are we not considered by him as strangers, for he sold us and also consumed our money? But all the wealth that god separated from our father is ours and our children\u2019s. So now, all that god said to you, do.\u201d [Notice how the word elohim can mean \u201cchild gods\u201d (of El Elyon) and a singular \u201cgod\u201d depending on context.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So Jacob rose, and he lifted up his sons and his wives upon the camels. And he led all his livestock and all his possessions that he had acquired, the purchase of his acquisition, which he had acquired in Padan Aram, to come to Isaac his father, to the land of Canaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now Laban had gone to shear his sheep, and [meanwhile] Rachel stole her father\u2019s teraphim [carved idols that represent the family gods of the Aramean pantheon \u2013 El (the storm god, high god), Astarte (Inanna\/Ishtar, fertility goddess), Anat (goddess of warfare and hunting, consort to Ba\u2019al), Haddad (Ba\u2019al, the Lord, the land\u2019s god-King, a storm god), Tammuz (god of agriculture and shepherds), Sin (judge of the dead in the underworld), (etc) \u2013 which has DIRECT CORRELATION to the Canaanite elohim (children of El) pantheon \u2013 El (the god of light, shape, and order), Asherah (fertility goddess and consort to El Elyon), El Shaddai (god of the twin mountains that look like a woman\u2019s breasts), Y-HWH (the Lord, the land\u2019s god-King, a storm god), Adon (god of agriculture and shepherds), Mot (god of the underworld), (etc)].<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jacob concealed from Laban the Aramean by not telling him that he was fleeing. So he and all that were his fled, and he arose and crossed the river, and he directed his face toward Mount Gilead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the third day, Laban was informed that Jacob had fled. And Jacob said to his kinsmen, \u201cGather stones,\u201d and they took stones and made a pile, and they ate there by the pile. And Laban called it Yegar Sahadutha, but Jacob called it Gal\u2019ed [a heap\/pile of testimony, a place of witness over what transpired].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meaning, Moshe \u2642\ufe0f was both a Rabbi and Posek, and Miriam \u2640\ufe0f was both a Rabbi and Poseket. In native Jewish tradition \ud83d\udd4e\ud83e\udeac\ud83c\udf3f\u270a\ud83c\udffc, both men and women are leaders, teachers, and deciders on Jewish law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(translation: Apparently, Miriam did everything that Moses did \u2014 that is, both meanings of the word teacher \u2014 teaching and ruling\/verdict.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to these sources, Miriam, the sister of Moshe was the first poseket\/Rabbi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The way they explain it, at Har Sinai, the Torah was equally conveyed by Moshe and his sister Miriam. He transmitted the Torah and all its laws to the men, and she did that to the women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This makes Miriam the first Rabbi as well as poseket\u2013because the person transmitting the Torah wasn\u2019t a mere trident, repeating what they were told. They also had to clarify ambiguities and resolve halakhic questions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exactly! And, this is \u201cwhy\u201d, am yisrael chai \ud83d\udd4e\ud83e\udeac\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\ud83c\udf3f\u270a\ud83c\udffc!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some INDIGENOUS PEOPLE\u2019s teaching today: It\u2019s an easily verifiable HISTORICAL FACT that neither the FISHNET kufiya NOR the watermelon REPRESENTS pan-Arab nationalist \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8 occupiers, who self-named themselves \u201cPalestinians\u201d in 1964 \u2013 in order to prevent our 1948 indigenous Jewish people\u2019s \ud83d\udd4e\ud83e\udeac\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\ud83c\udf3f\u270a\ud83c\udffc decolonised sovereign nation from experiencing PEACE and SECURITY upon our sacred ancestral Canaan land of Israel!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We native Jews (both Israeli and diaspora Jews) have a QUESTION for you: WHAT is the relationship between the FISHNET kufiya\/keffiyeh and the WATERMELON \u2013 BOTH appropriated by post-WW1 (post-1918) Arab settler occupiers \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8 for colonial Arab Muslim \u262a\ufe0f\ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8 NATIONALISM upon our Southwest Asia Indigenous peoples\u2019 sacred ancestral lands?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like with the native Mesopotamian (think indigenous Iraqi) fishnet shemagh \ud83e\uddd5\ud83c\udffc \u2013 aka, kufiyah\/keffiyeh, the headscarf from Kufa \u2013 Jews have been wearing our sudra version of SWA indigenous headdress for over 3,500 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a DIRECT RELATIONSHIP between Canaanites\/Levantines \u2013 (Jews are the last surviving still unassimilated native people of Canaan and, sadly, all other Levantines are Christian or Muslim colonized) \u2013 with our Mesopotamian native brothers and sisters!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our respective native ethno-religions embrace shared ancient pantheons and legal systems, across Southwest Asia and into Egyptian North Africa, and our Southwest Asia indigenous ethno-religions are sacred fire \ud83d\udd25 based. Persians (Zoroastrianism) and Jews (Judaism) keep the sacred flame alive with our sanctified (\u201choly\u201d) places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AND tithing watermelons \ud83c\udf49 at the Temple in Jerusalem has been a Jewish thang \u2013 (a Jew \u201cthing\u201d) \u2013 600 years before Mohammed\u2019s invention of Islam in the Arabian south, and 1,919 years before the pan-Arab nationalist \u201cPalestinians\u201d \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8 arrived to APPROPRIATE BOTH the fishnet kufiya \ud83e\uddd5\ud83c\udffc and the watermelon \ud83c\udf49 \u2013 in order to GASLIGHT the ENTIRE world\u2026 INTO what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In order to GASLIGHT the entire world that THEY \u2013 the post-WW1 pan-Arab nationalist \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8 \u201cPalestinian\u201d Muslim \u262a\ufe0f settlers \u2013 are SOMEHOW the \u201cindigenous\u201d people of OUR sacred Canaan land of Israel \u2013 for having COLONIZED our SWA lands! And that native Jews \ud83d\udd4e\ud83e\udeac\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\ud83c\udf3f\u270a\ud83c\udffc are \u201cwhite colonizers\u201d from \u201cEurope\u201d who have engaged in THEIR Muslim\/Marxist Arab Apartheid, kidnappings, rapings, enslavements, pay-for-slay terrorisms, attempted ethnic cleansings, and attempted genocides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, the Arab \u201cPalestinians\u201d \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8, who are \u2013 now, since 1948 \u2013 SOMEHOW being oppressed by our Jewish people\u2019s INDIGENOUS RESISTANCE \ud83d\udd4e\ud83e\udeac\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\ud83c\udf3f\u270a\ud83c\udffc to THEIR settler Colonialism and terrorisms upon our Southwest Asian native peoples and our sacred lands! It is only because we SWA natives are severely OUTNUMBERED worldwide socially, that the colonised world thinks our words are \u201chasbara\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is \u201cWHY\u201d the words of Nick Estes, a citizen of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe that is occupied by the USA \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8, are SO true AND important for ALL human beings to understand:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are taught that racism and colonialism are meant to control Black, Brown, and Indigenous peoples. And they do control us. But racism and colonialism are really meant to control white people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s drive this sanctity of life point home:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is an Indigenous Jewish teaching: Do not do unto Indigenous minorities and unto European and Arab Colonizers what you DON\u2019T want done to you! Indigenous peoples\u2019 resistance for survival \u270a\ud83c\udffb\u270a\ud83c\udffc\u270a\ud83c\udffd\u270a\ud83c\udffe\u270a\ud83c\udfff is a REAL thang (\u201cthing\u201d), \u2026 uh hem, socially privileged folks of worldwide Colonial nations \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf3\u262a\ufe0f\u271d\ufe0f\u262d for Allah, Christ, and Marx ruling dominionism and your subjugated minorities!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
