Center for Human Rights in Iran shared, \u201cThe Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) strongly condemns the execution of Mojahid Korkor by Iranian authorities on June 11, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korkor was arrested during the 2022 Woman, Life, Freedom protests that erupted across Iran and wrongfully accused of responsibility for the tragic death of 9-year-old Kian Pirfalak \u2014 an accusation Kian\u2019s own family has repeatedly and publicly refuted, stating that Kian was killed by Islamic Republic security forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This execution, carried out despite compelling evidence of Korkor\u2019s innocence, represents a grave miscarriage of justice and a continued assault on human rights and dissent in Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korkor\u2019s trial was marked by severe due process violations. He was denied access to an independent lawyer of his choice and convicted based on forced confessions extracted under torture. Independent observers and human rights organizations have raised grave concerns about the lack of credible evidence against him, the speed of the proceedings, and the court\u2019s failure to consider exculpatory testimony \u2014 including statements from Kian\u2019s parents absolving Korkor of any involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This execution is a profound injustice to Mojahid Korkor and a stark reminder of the Iranian judiciary\u2019s dramatically surging use of the death penalty to silence dissent, intimidate protesters, and continue punishing individuals for their participation in the Woman, Life, Freedom movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
