It\u2019s never been about Israel, about our 1948 decolonisation. It\u2019s always been about Jew-hatred, about privileged supremacist Colonizers \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf3\u262a\ufe0f\u271d\ufe0f\u262d who hate that we have not yet been assimilated or genocided out of existence. Hence, the European and Arab Conquistadors\u2019 lies about Jews. Jews are not white, nor a religion. \u2026 You can\u2019t kill an idea, an Indigenous people\u2019s idea \u2013 our Indigenous resistance idea to European and Arab settler Colonialism! We will \u270a\ud83c\udffc\ud83d\udd4e\ud83e\udeac\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1\ud83d\udcaa\ud83c\udffc survive you, Colonizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2026.Which is not to say that systemic racism isn\u2019t real, or that you don\u2019t stand a much better chance of being senselessly harassed by the police if you\u2019re black, or that centuries of discrimination haven\u2019t take their toll, or that representation in the media doesn\u2019t matter, or that health-care disparities aren\u2019t frequently predicated on race and gender\u2014or that any of the other arguments hurled at you as soon as the conversation turns to race aren\u2019t valid. But if you\u2019d like to understand everything that\u2019s so inherently nuts about the contemporary American conversation about race, it only takes this one three-word sentence: Jews are white\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You heard endless variations on this sentiment during Israel\u2019s recent skirmish with Hamas, as a parade of lawmakers, intellectuals, and entertainers took to social media to denounce the world\u2019s sole Jewish state of perpetrating apartheid or of murdering black and brown bodies. You hear it from radical Jewish advocates, who trill that Jews are \u201cwhite passing\u201d and therefore \u201cfunctionally white,\u201d which means they should take their place among the world\u2019s most privileged, no matter what might\u2019ve happened to their families between, say, 1939 and 1945. You hear it in colleges, where you can pay the equivalent of the median American salary just to attend courses with titles like \u201cJews and Racial Privilege.\u201d You hear it wherever our bien pensants congregate to show one another their virtues and pledge allegiance to their new radical religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to make sense of this?\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yet, even these objections, solemn as they may be, don\u2019t begin to capture the weight of the argument that Jews are somehow white. Take a moment to acquaint yourself, even in passing, with our stiff-necked people, and it\u2019s the following observation that is likely to register very near the top: We stand out precisely because we don\u2019t fit in. Is Judaism a religion? Sure. Are Jews a nation? Yes. Do we share genetic traits? Offer us dairy and find out. Do we come in all shapes, sizes, and skin colors? Amen selah. This is why I, a ninth-generation Israeli whose ancestors arrived in Jerusalem from the backwaters of the Austrian Empire, can amble into the Slat al-Azama synagogue in Marrakesh, or the Beth Yaakov Synagogue in Geneva, or the Ohel Leah Synagogue in Hong Kong, look around and see faces that vary wildly, and yet rest assured that when services start we will all recite, in more or less the exact same fashion, the ancient words that Jews have spoken in daily prayer for millennia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this kind of image\u2014black Jews and white Jews, European Jews and African Jews, educated wealthy Jews and barely literate poor Jews all understanding one another perfectly because they belong to the same strange family\u2014strikes you as too flimsy, consider the criteria put forth by Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ednez Cobo, an anthropologist engaged by the United Nations to serve as special rapporteur on discrimination against indigenous populations, as to what makes a people \u201cindigenous.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To fit the bill, he argued, peoples and nations should display one or more of the following: occupation of ancestral lands; common ancestry; a shared culture or religion; and a shared language. By any and all metrics at our disposal\u2014archeology, history, theology, even DNA tests\u2014Jews, if anything, are the indigenous people of the Land of Israel, from which they might have been exiled now and then but to which they always return.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No, Jews Are Not White
We\u2019re our own thing, and whatever privilege we possess is conditional in the European and Arab Conquistadors\u2019 diasporas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Jew that grew up secular, think Marxist for a reference, I was shocked when I immigrated to the United States proper. I am from a place where I was \u201cthe other\u201d at times, but was generally \u201ca native\u201d, one of the people by upbringing. By United States of Colonial America standards, I was a \u201cwhite\u201d presenting Jew in a predominantly brown \ud83e\udd0e human world. I saw myself in youth as one of the \u201cbrown\u201d and NEVER questioned this, even when occasionally profiled and targeted \u2013 solely based upon my presenting skin color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I came to United States proper, I experienced an extreme culture shock. First, just with trying to get a license to drive in my new USA State, the black woman before me scratched out my \u201cRace\u201d answer and declared me \u201cWhite\u201d. From, then on, I had \u201cwhite card\u201d privilege in the United States, despite not feeling any bit \u201cwhite\u201d in this American world. In time, I discovered just how racially divided the United States of Colonial America really is. There are many ghettos of all ethnicities in the United States of Colonial America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A \u201cmelting pot\u201d of humans is a misnomer, when applied to the United States! I grew up in an island ghetto of gentrification informed by land investors from the United States. So, I found myself finding my way and living very comfortably in the ghetto of the USA. It seemed normal to me, even though my new neighborhood looked upon me as \u201cpopo\u201d living in their midst. There was nothing I did to justify this judgement, only my skin and hair color is obviously too white to be here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I discovered \u2013 in person and firsthand \u2013 racist wordings that made no direct in person sense in the world that I grew up in. But, in the United States\u2026?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is where I became afraid that the United States culture of racist Apartheid would leave me \u201cchoosing sides\u201d in the USA, against my raised inherent worldview. And, worse, I became fearful that hearing \u201cnigger\u201d and \u201ccracker\u201d and all these other hateful words was going to lead me into someday, in my old age, expressing \u2013 in aged insanity and lack of control \u2013 one of these taught USA racism words! I still worry decades later about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You all \u201cAmericans\u201d don\u2019t realize just how dangerous your USA created and indoctrinated and exported racism affects this entire world, once we\u2019ve been exposed to your United States of Colonial America \u201cexceptionalism\u201d! We Jews understand that we are the original European \u201cniggers\u201d in this world, regardless our skin color. And white passing Jews are understandable in their pining for \u201cwhiteness\u201d recognition in the USA \u2013 despite that they reject everything that is truly native Jewish in their behaviors to achieve this!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jews come inherently in ALL skin colors and looks because of \u2013 BOTH \u2013 human migration and European \u2013 AND \u2013 Arab militarily forced settler Colonialism. Our Southwest Asian patriarch Moses of pre-Christianity and pre-Islam times \u2013 the BCE PERIOD \u2013 married an Ethiopian woman for a second wife, according to our Jewish people\u2019s sacred Torah of ancestral writings. King David was a light skinned red-haired \u201cGinger\u201d Jew, like Esau, according to Jewish memory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jewish people have been for 3,000 years plus at the crossroads of human civilization, emigration, and commerce. When WE speak, as the native people of the Canaan land of Israel, maybe we SHOULD be listened to \u2013 rather than European and Arab colonisplaisned?!!! Pesach is about about return from a forced exile into an Indigenous people\u2019s way of life upon our sacred Canaan land of Israel. OUR Jewish indigenous stories MATTER, folks! The act of giyur is the ONLY process by which non-Jews (outside of direct adoption by a Jewish family as a child) can fully embrace the Jewish religion AND become members of the Jewish ethnoreligious community. Think of it this way, Jewish \u201cconversion\u201d (obtaining legal Jewish status in a Jewish community) resembles BOTH conversion to the Jewish people\u2019s ethno-religion and a culture adopting naturalization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a national example by which to understand this Indigenous nation acceptance of those not born within the tribal families:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Canadian is so in love with the United States and goes so far as to speak in American English, dress like Americans, worship the same capitalism and national sports that Americans worship, embraces the dominating politics of the USA, lives by the laws of the United States and, even, wears the flag of the USA on his very body \u2013 but, until legally ruled as a United States citizen, he is still a CANADIAN, full stop!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, he can seek out a Canadian citizen who says that secretly he is a USA citizen and just not telling anyone (because he may or may not have attended a college and gotten a constitutional law degree \u00bf\u201din secret\u201d?), thus this Canadian \u201cUSA\u201d authority has the power to convert Canadians into United States citizens because he is a member of a Canadian USA citizenship movement \u2013 but, until legally ruled as a United States citizen by ACTUAL United States citizens, he is still a CANADIAN, full stop!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, \u201cNO\u201d, Christians and Muslims and Marxists, Jews are NOT a religion! WHY THIS MATTERS!!! Especially to the Jewish people of Israel, \u201cZion\u201d, Judea and Samaria!\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jewish people of\/from the Canaan land of Israel are NOT \u201ca religion\u201d. We are the last surviving people of the Canaan nations of peoples, who are keeping our origin stories, our ancestral writings, our Indigenous legal system, our agrarian based ethno-religion, our national G-d, and our Canaanite Hebrew language alive \u2013 in continuity and in evolution with an ever increasing colonized world of human beings that surround us! And still counting!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May we Jews\/Israelis and Kurds survive and prosper through all of this anti-Jew hatred by the \u27a1\ufe0f \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf3\u262a\ufe0f\u262d\u271d\ufe0f European and Arab colonizers \u2b05\ufe0f of planet Earth. If you don\u2019t want to be \u201coccupied\u201d and \u201cbombed\u201d, pan-Arab colonial settlers \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf8, then either: Become a productive citizen of our sovereign Indigenous Israeli nation, or simply end your pay-for-slay terrorisms targeting our Israeli people and live peacefully as the non-citizens you are amongst us. Or, simply, \u201cGo home, Colonisers! Back to your land of origins!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jews are NOT a colonial project. Jews are NOT occupiers of our own sacred ancestral land. Jews are NOT giving up our 1948 restored sovereignty upon Zion \u2013 our sacred Canaan land of Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
