Jews are a monolatrous people that recognize other peoples have their gods, their eternal spirits, and Y-HWH allows for this. So, we are not afraid of being in the presence of or have possession of human art representations of their Indigenous gods. Understanding this, then what does this command by Y-HWH mean? It means that Jews are forbidden to approach Y-HWH in blessings or supplications using the names of other peoples\u2019 gods. No \u201cin the name of\u201d, no exceptions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe believe in eternal spirits, not ghosts.\u201d You mean deities, with the word \u201cspirits\u201d, of course. It\u2019s okay! We Jews know that there are many gods in this world, and that our Torah\u2019s land-God, Y-HWH, allows for this. A human world that now involves our entire humanity\u2019s planet Earth, at this point! This is why we Jews have Polynesian and African ethno-religious statues in our homes \u2013 proudly displayed on our bookshelves with our Siddurim (no, we don\u2019t worship them, only Y-HWH as commanded for Jews!)- and we do not fear embracing Indigenous Peoples\u2019 traditions, beliefs, and ways. Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem \u2013 Indigenous Coalition For Israel knows this firsthand, for we Jews represent (everywhere)! Yes? We understand that each nation, through their gods, can find an ally place in the land of Israel before our Y-HWH G-d, without any need to \u201cconvert\u201d \u2013 as the Christian and Muslim Colonizers demand for all humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We Jews are not looking for worldwide assimilation. So be bold and upfront with Jews that, obviously, speak as Indigenous, whose every expression is devoutly anti-Colonial! The Jewish pantheon preserved in our ancestral writings (Torah) is the same pantheon as all Canaan peoples (Moab, Judah-Israel, Edom, Ammon, and Phoenicia \u2013 this latter is the \u201cCanaanites\u201d in our Torah). All nations of Canaan recognized El as high god, and the Elohim (the 70 children gods of El, which rule upon the 70 lands of the descendants of Noach). The land god of Judah-Israel used to be Ba\u2019al and Asherah, until Y-HWH usurped the land god role for the vassaled people of Israel. From hence on, we were and still are a henotheistic people (monolatrous, and rejecting other peoples\u2019 gods).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All peoples\/nations of Canaan spoke a mutually intelligible version of the Canaanite language \u2013 of which, our Canaanite Hebrew language is the last surviving living Canaan language, just as we Jews are the last surviving Indigenous people of Canaan.
