We are Jews who are Indigenous to Judea and Samaria, Southwest Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. We are MENA Jews that include Mizrahi, Sephardi, and Ashkenazi diaspora ancestries \u2013 along with Levantine Jewish families (those families that never left our Land of Israel, despite every attempted ethnic-cleansing by Arabs and Europeans over the last 2,000 years). Rather than listening to non-Jews and successfully colonized Jews telling our Jewish people\u2019s historical and cultural story, listen to us instead \u2013 we MENA Jews by ancestry \u2013 who know intimately our Jewish people\u2019s history and culture in the Levant and greater Middle Eastern regions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chacham Yosef ibn Yehuda \u2013 \u05e9\u05dc\u05d5\u05dd! Who am I? I am the son of a mother who is by direct descent, as is all her mothers before her, a Sardinia Indigenous. I am the son of a father who is, as is all his fathers before him, a Levant Indigenous. The genetic admixtures that my DNA retains \u2013 percentages of geographical here and there from Jewish relations with non-Jews who have been added into the Jewish tribe \u2013 from my mother\u2019s side shows relations with people that are from Sardinia, Scandinavia, and the United Kingdom. The consistent (never changing in percentage) admixtures that my DNA retains from my father\u2019s side shows relations with Jews, Portuguese, Greeks, and Hungarians. Yes, I am a Sephardi Jew by direct descent! But, DNA doesn\u2019t make you Jewish*. Embracing Judaism \u2013 the culture, stories and laws, language, lived history, and fate of the Jewish people \u2013 is what makes you Jewish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s address this asterisk \u201c*\u201d directly above: There are those random Jews and non-Jewish anti-Indigenous racists that CLING desperately to making an issue with DNA genetics, despite what we just said: DNA does NOT determine Indigenous Jewish people\u2019s legal status. It is only INFORMATIVE for individual Jewish families! The often response that I get \u2013 as a challenge to my Jewish authenticity \u2013 is the IDEA that I can\u2019t be a Hungarian Jew and be ALSO of Sephardi lineage. Let\u2019s correct this divisive disinformation here (for the sake of other born Jews who are being targeted):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

27:33 \u2013 Randy Schoenberg, Sephardi and Ashkenazi genealogical researcher, \u201cNon-Ashkenazi Jews and Jews potentially of Sephardic origin entered Eastern Europe \u2013 and I say this as someone who\u2019s Y DNA is apparently non-Ashkenazic, even though my Schoenberg family is from Hungary \u2013 so while I say it is certainly true that non-Ashkenazic Jews entered into the Ashkenazic Jewish population in Eastern Europe, we have yet to find a single provable genealogical tree that goes back to Iberia for any of these European Ashkenazi families. So, for Jews in Ashkenaz not living as Sephardic Jews, we have yet to find a single provable genealogical link back to Spain.\u201d \u2013 Ashkenazim with Sephardic ancestry?, https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/fjz6hs_nqaE?si=4CArxRDer1s1LPTa<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, the Pintele Yid who are of Sephardi origin, like me, somehow get born knowing a connection that we can\u2019t possibly prove historically! But, we still know it, because genetic memory is deeper than what science presently thinks. The call of the blood to remember beckons within us and draws us, even before we understand what we are searching for. Then comes modern late 20th century CE DNA science! The haplogroup of my father and all fathers before him is present at the center, and the admixtures tell the tale of forced migration of Jews \u2013 with unrelenting consistency in every revised chip of DNA science advancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am Yosef ben David ibn Yehuda, also known by my colonial name as Joseph Tsefanyahu Farkasdi. And I am your chach\u00e1m for as long as you see me as such. I am an accidental chach\u00e1m (a \u201cthought-leader\u201d, \u201csage\u201d) from too much personal studying into our Indigenous Judean ways. More about me personally \u2013 I grew up as an island Jew, a chiloni trapped in a quasi-Christian and quasi-Indigenous world. Ever rebelling against the world around me. I come from an ancestry of Sefardi Jews on my father\u2019s side that found their way up to Hungary after 1492. They were, due to pre-WW2 antisemitism experiences, poor Jews that immigrated from Europe. WW2 turned our family elders deeply silent about their past, and about their transfers of money to the Old World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, worse,\u2026 So, much has been lost in history for our quote \u201cAmerican\u201d family, due to the Shoah. But, as the Ashkenazi Jews of the island taught me, I am a \u201cpintele yid\u201d, for the blood itself, the ancestors, has driven me to returning. Not too many people in this world understand that ancestral memory is real and it seeks expression in the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hence, the older I got, the more of a cheider I became. Studying anything and everything Jewish, all because my family name proved to me that my lineage is deep and needs to be explored, as the blood in me kept urging day in and day out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I traced my family line back to, apparently, Satmar land. Which explained to me \u201cwhy\u201d I feel affinity with Jews who have a Heredi upbringing. Hence, my inexplicable need as a youth to buy Chafetz Chaim\u2019s \u05e1\u05e4\u05e8 \u05d4\u05de\u05e6\u05d5\u05d5\u05ea \u05d4\u05e7\u05e6\u05e8, even without a yeshiva nor Israeli understanding of \u05e2\u05d1\u05e8\u05d9\u05ea at the time. I guess it was the name Chafetz Chaim , \u201cPursuer of Life\u201d, that caught my blood\u2019s attention in this purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, I came upon a cassette, before military service, of Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi \u05e2\u201d\u05d4 chanting tefillah. A couple of chants, I still chant in his derech to this very day. My daughter was born quite the vocalist as I was born and proved to be, so tefillah it is! It doesn\u2019t really matter where a Jew is from, only that our emunah is being expressed. Authentically, from the heart, regardless the raised method of expressing this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, between feeling (and experiencing, however brief) relationship with and warring with Arabs, between experiencing Western and Eastern expressions of Jewishness, between growing up between Colonists and Indigenous, I have an Indigenous sense of understanding about this world. Without a destined and predetermined bubble of social influence to abide by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess, this means that I will always offend everyone, Indigenous and Colonizer, in my expressions. And also those who are partially successfully colonized \u2013 either way \u2013 in between. I\u2019ve never settled into a communal social camp fully, because of this. I understand the importance of every human\u2019s perspective, but I also understand that still surviving Indigenous Peoples NEED to be heard and respected. It will always be my derech to address this latter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t know \u201cwhy\u201d. I am just living life through my particular lens, like all others who are around me. I can never be mad or hateful, but I can be bluntly real and honestly expressing from my experience of life. Even though I know it is likely to offend others. It is always such a blessing to me, when those who protest SO MUCH keep engaging with me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with those who are ruled Jewish through a beit din!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do NOT be afraid to embrace, find your place of community with our Jewish people, and let go of the \u201cboarding school\u201d mentality of the European and Arab settler Colonists upon our SHARED planet Earth \ud83c\udf0d\ud83c\udf0e! We, the Jewish people, survive generation after generation for a reason. We are the first Indigenous people worldwide colonized for Colonial Allah, Christ and, now, Marx ruling dominionism upon all of planet Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, we know a thing or two! Both about ourselves as a people and of the worldwide Colonizers \u262a\ufe0f\u262d\u271d\ufe0f of indigenous peoples. The Jewish people are STILL a light unto all the still surviving Indigenous nations to this very day, because of this! Lastly, if you are wanting for me to lead you, I will not.
